Track of the Week: Way To You

One of my fave artists, Brandi Carlile, sings this week’s Track, “Way To You.” My first exposure to Brandi was in a Starbucks. I had to ask who was singing after I heard her voice streaming through the speakers. Brandi is a true musician, and her music is first rate. I LOVE this woman’s voice.

Brandi released an EP, XOBC just before Valentine’s Day with “Way To You” on the track list. The harmonies are gorgeous and she is at her best, close to her country roots. This track is not available on Rhapsody, so you can preview on iTunes here. Love it, love it…

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope yours was spent with someone really special.

Since love is in the air today, I wanted to share my current top five list of dreamy love songs. These songs make me melt every time I listen.  They make me want to reach out and take my husband’s hand because they remind me of him.

  • “On a Night Like This” by Dave Barnes
  • “I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know” by Donny Hathaway
  • “What Love Is” by Erin Boheme
  • “I’ll Still Be Loving You” by Restless Heart
  • (and one of my all-time favorites that I love so dearly) “Somersault” by Zero 7

If you have a favorite song, post it in the comments section.  I hope these songs provide the perfect Valentine’s Day soundtrack.

Track of the Week: Ay Yo

Melanie Fiona…need I say more? If you have not listened to this Canadian artist’s breakout album, The Bridge, you are missing out. The album is truly a soulful, vintage bridge between different genres and all types of people. Her song “It Kills Me” was recently up for a Grammy award nomination.

The Track of the Week “Ay Yo” is my favorite from the album. If you need a lift, turn the volume up, roll the windows down, and you will instantly feel better. Let me know what you think.

Enjoy a listen here.
