Track of the Week: Stood Up

Looking for a new anthem song for your favorite cause? Look no further than the Track of the Week “Stood Up” by Alison Sudol, known professionally as A Fine Frenzy.

The striking lyrics and driving melody will make you want to, pardon the pun, stand up! “And so they sunk every ship we sailed, but we stood up.” I LOVE this song.

After recently previewing a few of the tracks from Alison’s most recent album Bomb in a Birdcage, I downloaded it immediately. Her music draws you in like poetry and her voice is wonderfully expressive. Highly recommend this album and artist.

Listen to the track “Stood Up” here and get ready to be inspired!

Track of the Week: I and Love and You

Welcome back, me! I am truly sorry for the lack of posts recently. Shame on me! Life has been crazy. I PROMISE I will start posting on a weekly basis again, starting today! Which brings me to the topic at hand…

The Track of the Week, “I and Love and You” by the Avett Brothers speaks to those days we sometimes have. You know the feeling: Work sucks, people suck, and you just want to pack up and move to a new city where you can start fresh. The striking harmonies and heart-on-sleeve lyrics from brothers Scott and Seth Avett will pull you right in. Take a listen to their album of the same title also.

Listen here and enjoy the beauty. =)
